Karina, have the Frank DVD in now while I'm cleaning house. Will watch snowy again later. Did you see my post about the wedding scene! Sorry if I stepped on toes with my comments but after seeing the new release, and having watched the movie so many times, it just seemed to me to be out of character for them. I don't care how Geoff Burrows feels about it. I must admit, it was a good series of shots but the characters as portrayed by Tom and Sigrid, after waiting so long, would not wait for all the "trimmings", they'd want to be married as soon as Harrison gave his ok. You've been a great supporter to me and I can't thank you enough for listening to all my quips and quirks about the movies. Thanks for being a friend! I will not be going outside today, not even to the pool because it's 6 PM and it's still 109 degrees. I'll wait til dark and go to the pool for about an hour. Should be finished with the DVD and my house work by then! Stay Happy!

Oh, I plan on getting the other DVD's, Phar Lap and Time Guardian but had to take care of some bills and help my son with his college tuition. Should be ordering the DVD's in about 2 weeks. I know I'll like them as much as the snowy movies! Thanks!!

I need to watch the wedding scene again before I comment on your other post in the Snowy thread cos I felt differently about it. But its a years since I saw it so I will write more after I rewatch it.
I think you will truly love Phar Lap - its a stunning true life story about a horse that was considered the hero of our nation during the great depression. Records wise he is still considered the greatest ever racehorse here. Time Guardian - its an aquired taste !! It had a lot of troubles during the production - changing directors etc so it looks very thrown together. But it was officially Australia's first attempt at a sci fi film and i think there are some great outback shots that make up for the choppy storyline.
Its freezing here today so I am sending some cool thoughts to you to cool you poor hot folks down !!!!

Thanks for the cool thoughts, don't know if they're working. I'll be going to the pool once the sun goes down. Water is beautiful right now. Just like a warm bath. Really relaxes me at night. I am really looking forward to seeing Phar Lap and Time Guardian. I read what Tom said about making the movie Time Guardian, he was not a happy camper during filming but like the true artist he is, he made the best of a bad situation and completed his obligation. That's the mark of a true star. Oh, I am a fan of the TV series Stargate SG-1 that is filmed in Vancouver and I log on to their boards occassionally. I sent a suggestion that they invite Tom for a guest shot since he is originally from Canada like most of the stars on that show. We'll see what happens. Any way, thanks for the cool thoughts again. I love Arizona, just wish the summers weren't so terrible. Makes you wonder how the early settlers survived out here. Good thoughts, Stay happy!

And about the wedding scene. This was just my take on it after seeing the movies 30 or 40 times without the wedding and seeing the portrayal of the characters. After waiting 4 or 5 years just to be together, the characters would not want to wait another, what weeks to have a dress made, order or have suits made, it just didn't suit the characters to me. Maybe I'm not a good judge of Australian customs or traditions, but I just got the feeling that Jim and Jess would want to be married fast so they could get on with their lives, they wouldn't be concerned about appearances. They would want to avoid all the fuss and hassle. But like I said, that's just my take on the scenes. Man, if I have this many comments about these two movies, what am I going to do after I see Phar Lap and Time Guardian!!! And Karina, I have now watched the Frank DVD 5 times and each time it's better. Tom is a true entertainer and it shows in his work! It's easy to vaccuum to his music but kind of hard to do dishes! Your fingers are to wet to snap! HA! HA! I love it! Thank you for your help with the links! Have a great day!

Karina, I must be out of my mind! I just walked home from the bus stop(1 1/2 miles) in 112 degree heat and I forgot my bottle of water at work. I am going to the pool as soon as I change clothes and get a good long, long drink! I'll send some of this heat your way if you'll send some of the coolness my way! Deal? Have a great evening! Stay happy!

Hi Moms Have you got a DVD player at all, if so have you tryed to play the Aus Region 4 in it at all? it might work. I think I may have said at some time that my copy of The Way To Dusty Death of Tom's is only meant to be for Europe zone and it it plays fine here in N.Z. and my DVD player is not a muiti- zone player, it would been interesting to know if it works and if it does maybe M could get a copy from Aus for her viewing. JUST A THOUGHT. Let me know if I am way out of the ballpark here. Bye Maryanna.

I do have a DVD player, I should just buy the Aus DVD and try it as you did. If it does not work in my DVD player someone suggested I play it in my computer. Thanks for your suggestion. M

In your dvds instruction manual it will say whether it it region free or not. You can also type the model number and the work "region free" into google and it will bring up websites that give you a code to key into your remote and it will make the player region free. Thats what I did with mine.
