Now I havent yet had this confirmed by Tom but there was a lovely announcement in my Sunday paper today advising of the christening of Ava Jackman, daughter of Hugh Jackman and Deborra-Lee Furness, last week in Turramurra, NSW.
Tom and Deborra-Lee shared a house in LA, along with an ongoing flow of aussie actors, back in the late 80s when they were trying for acting jobs in the US. They have remained good pals ever since.
Tom and his wife Mandy were named as godparents of Ava.

Karina, I think Tom and Mandie will be wonderful god parents. they're doing a great job with their own kids. If the need arises, I know they'll be will do a great job raising little Ava. From what I've surmised, they are very loving and caring parents. Good for them!!

Karina, Wasn't there a link or something with pictures and articles from Tom's supporting the cattlemen in that protest march. I've been trying to find it and don't know where I saw it? Nice info on the problem with the licenses or permits for grazing and all. Any idea where that layout is? Hope you're staying warm! I'll be happy to stay cool. Record high today, 115 and I got a ride home from work so I didn't have to walk. Thank heavens for small miracles!

Maryanne, Thanks for the support. I've had a while to build my admiration for Tom and I think he is the best. His singing is great and I wish we could see more of his acting. I just might have to move to Australia. I will be ordering more CD's also but had to help my son pay for his next to last semester at college, so it made me short. Don't worry, I intend to get Phar Lap, Time Guardian, Windrider and The Night We Called It A Day! Can't get enough of him. And here's the kicker, I'm almost 60 years old but he is timeless! Karina, Any chance of posting recent pictures of Tom, Mandie and the kids? That would be nice!

Hiya gals. Moms the cattlemen link is www.tomburlinson.homestead.com/savesnowycattle.html I actually have a new article that I must upload to it - thanks for reminding me !! I do have some new pics to upload to Toms site of him and Mandy from a premier night but I have never seen pics of their kids in the press - like many celebrity parents they probably choose to keep them out of the limelight. Maryanne - man oh man your dvd player will definitely go into overdrive !!!! Windrider was filmed here in my city and it was when my city looked its best - before it really grew too much. I love watching it and wish they would put it out on dvd. I am not sure how it needs to happen. I know the films owner sold the rights a couple of years ago when he was going broke and I looked into how to go about buying the rights - but I was in the middle of selling and buying homes so I didnt have time to concentrate on my efforts.

Karina, Thanks for the link. I was rereading some of the articles and one particular from that football player about the Snowy River poem. What difference does it make that there's no reference to cattle in the poem. It is the mountain heritage that made the Man from Snowy River what he was and that heritage included the cattlemen. I don't get the connection or that they would ridicule a piece of their own national heritage/literature in a defense against the government. I'm not an activist in any sense of the word but through my years, I have visited many of my own country's national parks and landmarks. For what it is worth, the parks have changed from the early years and in my opinion, the intrusion of the government has only made things worse not better so I am in full agreement with the cattlemen. Like I said, for what it's worth!

hi moms & karina this is marysusand from louisiana i agree with you about people changing the looks of things to what they call "comericalizing" to draw more people into see ing the natural wonder of our land. I have got to say when i saw snowy river 1 & 2 I fell in love with the mountains, I can't get enough of their beauty through other web sites thank the good LORD that the people downunder doesn't let people change things that are naturally beautiful like the people in this country, oh I think the word is called "PROGRESS" let me know if ya'll need a few good gators to help keep things the way they were made

Hi Marysusand.
Not sure if you know this. When you are looking at a computer screen you can make it bigger and easier to see. Just go up to the top of your screen where you see "File, Edit, View etc etc"
Click on View, go down to Text Size, select Increase. You can repeat this a few times to make it all much bigger.
ciao K
