The reunion of Nicole Kidman and her country singing star husband, Keith Urban, in Sydney has proved all too short - they are to be parted again due to work commitments.
Urban will fly out this week to play shows in Germany and Britain as part of his Love, Pain and the Whole Crazy Thing world tour while Kidman, who received a Companion in the Order of Australia in Canberra on Friday, remains here in rehearsals for the film Australia.
Urban will return to Australia in May, just in time for principal photography to commence on his wife's film.
Kidman has spoken at length about her desire to conceive a child and, while rumours of a baby were flying thick and fast last week, she is categorically not pregnant.
Her role in Australia requires her to spend a fair amount of time on horseback, an activity not recommended for pregnant women.
If she were to conceive during the seven-month production schedule, we are told director Baz Luhrmann would work around it.
It wouldn't be the first time a director has had to accommodate an unexpected pregnancy: Jodie Foster discovered she was expecting while making Panic Room, playing a role originally intended for Kidman, who dropped out due to complications from knee injury sustained on Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge!
Foster spent the last few weeks of the shoot in a baggy top trying to disguise her belly.
Such disguises might not be available for Kidman, who will be wearing costumes in the 1930s and '40s style in her role as an English aristocrat who inherits an outback station and helps drover Hugh Jackman move a cattle herd across the country.
We are informed however that she and Jackman have taken well to the saddle, with Jackman receiving tips from his close friend, and Kidman's ex, Man From Snowy River star Tom Burlinson.
