I just watched both new released DVD's of the Snowy River movies! I absolutely loved them. They are just as good now, probably better with digital enhancement. I've watched each movie at least four times since I got them yesterday. One question...I know everyone loved the wedding scene but as a fanatic of the movies, it just seemed to be to be out of character for Jim and Jess to want this big, splashy wedding. I mean, they've been waiting what four years and all kinds of hardships and inconveniences and they're going to wait more time to marry. It just seemed totally out of character for the way Tom and Sigrid portrayed the characters. Maybe I'm loopy, but by the make-up the actors put into the characters, I feel the couple would have wanted a quick, quiet wedding after all they had been through just to be together. Jim and Seb looked totally out of place all dressed up like that. And Jess looked like she was scared to death to walk down the aisle until she got started. I loved the added scene of Denny in the corral when Jim finds him dead. It was heartwarming! Totally enjoyable now as it was years ago although I never got to see them in the movies. I would have loved to see them on the big screen. Also, received the Frank DVD and I have to admit, Tom is the quintessential entertainer just like his idol. Seeing the DVD makes me want to see him in concert all the more and if he tours next year, I WILL SCHEDULE MY VACATION TO CATCH HIS SHOW!!!!! No doubt about it! He's fantastic, his voice is soooo like I remember Sinatra's. Now I thank my sisters for dragging me to that show in New York when I was so young. We may have waited in line for 6 or 7 hours but now it was worth every minute. Tom sounds just like him and his music makes me want to get up and dance in the aisles (actually around my living room) just like my sisters did then! Thanks for reading this long post. But to use Tom's own words, "He's the greatest, then and now!" Way to go Tom! Karina, thanks for the links to help me buy the DVD's! You're the greatest too! Stay happy!

Marysusan, I'll save karina the trouble, Showdown at Williams Creek is like a western but it's not an australian western. The original name is "The Life and Times of Kootnai Brown" and it's supposed to be based on a true story. It was filmed in Montana or there abouts and is supposed to one of Tom's better roles. Once I get my new VCR, I can't wait to see it. I don't know if it's come out in DVD y. Still Checking! Have fun!

Thanks for putting that info up Moms. Yep Kootenai Brown is a wester (as such) - filmed in Canada and based on a true story and involves a courtcase. Its set around the gold rush days. Its a very unglamorous role for Tom and he is extremely good in the film. I have a Canadian video of it - but have not noticed a DVD release to date.
